Glacier Trekking

Walking on a glacier is one of the most extraordinary activities you can experience during an Arctic expedition. It is an opportunity to leave the yacht behind and step directly onto ice that has shaped the landscape of Svalbard for hundreds, and sometimes thousands, of years.
During the trek, we explore the glacier up close: its crevasses, blue ice formations, meltwater streams, moraines and the remarkable texture of its surface. The route and duration of each outing are always adapted to current conditions, the abilities of the group and safety requirements.
Glacier treks take place only where conditions allow and under the supervision of properly trained guides. Depending on the location, they may require specialist equipment such as crampons, harnesses or ropes.

The route and duration of each trek are always adapted to current weather and ice conditions, the abilities of the participants and safety requirements. Depending on the location and the nature of the route, crampons, harnesses, ropes and other specialist equipment may be used to ensure safe travel on the glacier.
Glacier hiking in Svalbard offers a completely different perspective on the Arctic. Instead of observing a glacier only from the deck of the yacht, we can enter its raw, blue world and experience the immense scale of the polar landscape around us.
