Turning passion into enthralling profession

MEN OF SEA

Men of Sea organisation has brought together passionate world travellers who have been intensively exploring the wild, hard-to-reach places scattered all over the map of our world for several years. These places are connected by oceans and seas, which we traverse in search of surroundings untouched by human activity. The way of travelling is also significant, often being the essence of the journey itself.

We love open spaces, the vastness of the seas, where one can leave daily concerns behind and fully breathe in fresh air, realizing that our daily problems are just a fragment in the vastness of this beautiful world, governed by powerful forces of nature. The sense of boundless space, seeing land from the water’s perspective, changes a person forever. We travel to unique places – ones that take your breath away, and visiting them remains in your mind and heart for a long time.

Our journeys to Svalbard, Greenland, the Arctic, and the far South, the polar ends of the earth visited by us, have infected us with longing for them. Expeditions across cold seas, amidst icebergs, whales, seals and walruses, can prove dangerous because the allure of icy lands, boundless, uninhabited spaces can enchant for a lifetime…

In our endeavors, we do not accept half-measures or compromises. We strive to execute everything with the utmost professionalism, sparing no effort or resources. We take care of formal and legal matters to offer our clients complete safety. We guarantee this with our persons and our assets.

We are registered in the Central Register of Tourism Organizers and Intermediaries of the Marshal of the Malopolskie Voivodeship. We also have Insurance Guarantee issued by UNIQA Insurance TUiR S.A.

THE SVALBARD PROJECT
From these passions and fascinations with the Arctic, a long-term travel project has emerged, aiming at promoting and bringing the Svalbard archipelago closer to people. Such places are slowly disappearing, and there is a need to hurry to get to know them in their current form. With the conviction that with minimal interference in the environment, while adhering to all requirements applicable in the local parks and reserves, we can lead a small group of people who seek something more. We engage all our efforts to build exceptional, life-changing journeys for you.
While there are many different places, hotels, islands, or resorts around the world to visit, the Arctic is unique and a journey across it becomes an experience of a lifetime. It is an excellent gift for our loved ones, whom we can surprise on significant occasions, knowing they will return full of excitement, gratitude and satisfaction.

The project was born in 2017 when we first reached Spitsbergen and found ourselves at the end of the world in front of the majestic Monacobreen glacier. Giant blocks of “calved” ice falling into the sea, being surrounded by high, towering mountains, a nearby herd of Arctic belugas – this image remained in our memory forever. And then a tremendous desire arose in us to share this beauty with our loved ones, acquaintances and every other person. It became an inspiration, even an inner need, to organize expeditions in this unique world. Time seems to stand still for us because to this day, every year, we have organized several trips on this beautiful archipelago. Although it may seem that during this time we should have already explored all its nooks and crannies, but in our opinion, we are still far from it, continually discovering new places and witnessing incredible situations.
A community of people fascinated by this world is also growing around us, and after their first journey, they return in subsequent years just to be here…

THE AURORAS AND WHALES PROJECT
This project is our response to our fascination with whales, which we consider the most beautiful creatures in the world. Whales have always been close to our hearts, and we have encountered them many times during our travels to Svalbard and Greenland. We have seen up close a blue whale a few times, humpbacks breaching out of the water, pods of fin whales, or the mysterious white whales – Arctic belugas.
Many years ago, while watching a nature program showing how every year pods of orcas and whales enter northern fjords of Norway following shoals of herring, we understood that we had to be there. We began thorough research on this phenomenon and its details – where, why, and when. When we had gathered enough knowledge, we invented and organized our first “Auroras and Whales” trips. And then, another world drew us in with its beauty and has become a fixed point of our annual journeys.
Today, after a few years, the “Auroras and Whales” trip is still one of our most beautiful journeys. In its programme we have managed to combine a multi-day whale-safari with the Northern Lights hunt, trekking along the most beautiful routes in the Tromsø region, staying in unique atmospheric places detached from civilization. Over the years, we have perfected the details, gained many local acquaintances, a few friends, and started to feel at home here. In our opinion and the opinion of our participants, we have crafted a fantastic program for a week-long, intensive trip.
And indeed, our dream has come true: we “touch” the whales. They swim very close to us. We have grown fond of orcas, ceased to fear them, and observing them and their intelligent behaviour has only deepened our fascination with these initially frightening animals.
We have found our place in a small harbour in the Kvænangen fjord, our local base, which is in the centre of everything. We are welcome here, have close relationship with the locals, and this place has become important to us.
The participants of the “Auroras and Whales” trips are infected with our fascination with what we observe during them.
