10th Season of Men of Sea Expeditions to Svalbard

2026 is a very special year for us – we are beginning our 10th season of expeditions to Svalbard. For a decade, we have been returning to the Far North, taking our guests among the fjords, glaciers and wild coastlines of Spitsbergen.
Over the years, Svalbard has become much more to us than simply another travel destination. It is a place we have come to know intimately, a place we feel deeply connected to and one that, despite our experience, still continues to surprise us.

10 Years of Experience in Svalbard
Behind us are hundreds of days spent sailing Arctic waters, thousands of nautical miles and extraordinary encounters with polar bears, walruses, whales, Arctic belugas, Arctic foxes and reindeer.
Yet every season in Svalbard is different. Ice conditions change, the weather and light are never the same, and Arctic wildlife writes its own story every single day. This is why, even after 10 seasons, our Svalbard expeditions remain a true exploration.
The experience we have gained over many years of sailing throughout the archipelago allows us to plan our routes around current weather and ice conditions, while making the most of opportunities to observe Arctic wildlife.

Small Groups, Big Expeditions – Our Philosophy
From the very beginning, the philosophy of Men of Sea has remained unchanged. We do not simply want to tick off places on a map. We explore, search, observe and give ourselves time to truly experience the Arctic.
We organise our Svalbard expeditions in small groups. This allows us to reach extraordinary places, adapt our routes flexibly to changing conditions and experience the very best of the Arctic together.
We are not just observers. We live the rhythm of the expedition – going ashore, hiking through Arctic landscapes, watching wildlife and discovering places connected with the fascinating history of Svalbard exploration.

Our Guests Are Part of the Men of Sea Story
Over the course of 10 seasons, hundreds of participants have joined our expeditions. They have come from different countries, with different backgrounds and expectations, but they have all shared something in common: curiosity about the world, a love of nature and the desire to experience something truly extraordinary.
Together, we have shared the excitement of a first encounter with a polar bear, the silence in front of a glacier, hikes through Arctic wilderness and those unforgettable moments when something completely unexpected appears beyond the next headland.
We are especially happy that many of our guests return to join Men of Sea on another Arctic expedition, and that friendships first made on board often continue for years.

Svalbard – A Passion That Continues
After 10 seasons, we have much more knowledge and experience, but our passion, curiosity and respect for the Arctic remain exactly as strong as they were at the beginning.
We still want to explore. We still want to see what lies beyond the next headland. And we still want to share this extraordinary world with people who, like us, want to experience the real Arctic.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of our story over the years.

10 seasons in Svalbard. Hundreds of expedition stories. One enduring passion – the North.
