FISHING

BASIC INFORMATION
Norwegian waters are the most abundant fishing areas in Europe. With 1,200 fjords and the second longest coastline in the world, the fish are plentiful. Fishing is one of the most important parts of Norway’s culture and heritage, and the famous stockfish is the most important export product reaching tables all over the world.
Our yacht is equipped with fishing rods and fishing sets, and if conditions permit, fishing takes place during our trips in Norway and Svalbard. The types of fish we manage to catch in these waters include cod, common ling, halibut, crimson fish, herring and anglerfish. We must admit that over the years we have found our fishing spots and gained insights into secret locations shared with us by Norwegian fishermen.
We have a principle that we only fish when necessary and only as much as we need. We do not engage in fishing “for sport.”
Freshly caught fish in the Azimuth yacht’s kitchen is always a treat, especially when the captain prepares it in the Norwegian style or cooks the already famous soup.
During our expeditions, we teach how to fish, gut the fish, and prepare fillets.
Besides us, groups of orcas and humpback whales also fish in these waters during the winter season. We observe this closely during our “Auroras and Whales” trips.
