LYNGEN

NARCIARSKIE SZALEŃSTWO I MEDYTACJA

BASIC INFORMATION
Lyngen is a peninsula located in northern Norway, within the municipality of Lyngen in the Troms district. It is surrounded by two fjords – Ullsfjorden to the west and Lyngenfjord to the east. Despite its considerable size – measuring 43 km in length and 16 km in width – it connects to the mainland through a mere two-kilometre-wide Lyngen Strait, where the main settlement of the region, Lyngseidet, is situated.

ALPINE SCENERY
There are only a few small settlements across the entire peninsula. This is hardly surprising as the vast majority of the area is occupied by the rugged Lyngen Alps, whose steep slopes seem to emerge directly from the water’s surface. The large lake Jægervatnet, located in the western part of the peninsula, enhances the charm of this place. The landscapes are exceptionally picturesque, creating an ideal setting for mountain excursions, skiing, fishing, or meditation.
The Lyngen Alps are part of the itinerary for our “Auroras and Whales” trips, as they are situated midway between Tromso and Spildra. Sometimes, we make stops in one of the ports in this region when weather conditions demands it or it is in the planned route.
For organized groups, we can arrange ski touring expeditions in this stunning region.
