Eagles of Tourism Award 2021

Prestiżowa nagroda ORŁY TURYSTKI 2021 w naszych rękach.

We are thrilled to share with you the joyful news that we have become the Golden Laureate of the prestigious Eagles of Tourism competition for 2021.
This achievement was made possible by the exceptionally high ratings given by the participants of our trips. We received a rating of 9.3 out of 10.
We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all of you who joined us on our journeys and for rating the quality of our events so highly. This success belongs to our Men of Sea Expedition team, including all those involved in the planning and execution of the trips: logistics, overall organization, yacht preparation, and on-site voyage management.
We extend our gratitude to all of you and to those who supported our project.

Below, we present a brief interview with Captain Marek Rajtar.

A big success?

We are extremely proud to have received the Golden Laureate award in the competition. What makes it even more special is the exceptionally high rating we received. This award is very valuable to us as it is based on the feedback of people who have been on our expeditions.

So, what’s the recipe for success?

First and foremost, a good idea, which we had no trouble with because it aligned with our passion for sailing expeditions to the North. Then, it’s about putting in an immense amount of work to ensure that every detail contributes to the overall success of the project, impressing the participants of our trips. This includes our team of friends who work tirelessly to bring the project to life.

Can you tell us more about Men of Sea?

We’ve managed to gather a group of amazing individuals around the project with whom we share strong relationships. And, of course, we’re all united by our love for the far North, which we consider our second home and enjoy being in. Over time, we’ve been fortunate to have the support of many kind-hearted individuals, which has made our work easier. We’re grateful for that – it’s also a reward for them because it made our journey smoother.

The journeys take place in the North. What’s so special about this region?

The North, the Arctic, Svalbard, Greenland – these are incredible places. We’re captivated by the beauty of nature there, still untouched by harmful human activity. Wild animals in their natural habitat are a common sight: whales, polar bears, walruses. In summer, the polar day; in autumn and winter, the magnificent auroras. And then there’s the ice. It’s an amazing land of ice: giant glaciers, icebergs and ice fields. The whole scenery is breathtaking, allowing those on board our yacht Azimuth to experience the journey of a lifetime. The entire world presents itself, and our role is simply to be guides in it.

But it’s a challenging region, and travelling there is certainly not easy, is it?

That’s true. It’s the far North, after all, where we’re face to face with the forces of nature. However, we have years of experience that allow us to anticipate and prepare for many situations. We put in a lot of work around each of our expeditions, carefully preparing the yacht, logistics, and all the details. The expedition itself is just the culmination of the entire process. A successful one – as evidenced by the award we’ve received and the feedback about us. The satisfaction of the participants is an additional motivation for us, as ultimately, we organize our projects for them.

Many years ago, when I sailed into one of the places in the Arctic, I was enchanted by its beauty. Alongside the wonder, there arose a desire to share what I saw and experienced with my family and the loved ones. That’s where the idea for the Men of Sea project originated, and later, its realization followed.

It’s the New Year, and I’m sure there are new plans.

Yes, we’re finalizing the details of our upcoming trips. Today, we can reveal that we’re planning a return to Greenland, the place where it all began..

Well, good luck. Thank you for the interview.
